Understanding the Lunar Cycle


The moon, our celestial companion, dances through a monthly cycle, revealing different phases. The Waxing Crescent is a delicate sliver of light, marking the transition from the New Moon to the Full Moon. Here’s what you need to know:

  1. The Basics: The moon orbits the Earth, while the Earth orbits the sun. The moon’s appearance changes due to its position relative to the Earth and the sun. The phases include the new moon, waxing crescent, first quarter, waxing gibbous, full moon, waning gibbous, third quarter, and waning crescent.

  2. Waxing Crescent: After the New Moon, the moon enters its waxing crescent phase. It symbolises growth, potential, and fresh beginnings. Imagine the moon as a seedling, ready to sprout.

Waxing Crescent Ritual: Setting Intentions

  1. Gather Your Tools:

    • A white candle (representing purity and clarity)

    • A small crystal (choose one that resonates with your intention)

    • A drop of essential oil (such as lavender or frankincense)

  2. Create Sacred Space:

    • Find a quiet corner or step outdoors under the moon’s glow.

    • Light the white candle, inviting its energy.

  3. Center Yourself:

    • Breathe deeply three times. Feel rooted and present.

  4. Mantra:

    • Hold the crystal in your dominant hand and repeat:

      • “I Love, I am Love, and I am Open to Love in all its forms.”

  5. Meditate and Visualise:

    • Close your eyes. Imagine love flowing into your heart. See yourself embracing love—whether it’s self-love, romantic love, or universal love.

  6. Affirmation:

    • Whisper or think:

      • “I am open to growth and positive change. Love surrounds me.”

  7. Release Your Intentions:

    • Write down your intentions for the month ahead. Fold the paper and hold it to the candle flame. As it burns, release your desires to the universe.
