The Wild Woman Within: An Invitation to Reclaim Your Untamed Self

Today, I want to invite you into a deeply personal journey—an exploration of what it means to embrace "the wild woman" in this season of life. For me, she has become a living, breathing essence of unshackled freedom, bold authenticity, and radiant joy. Together, let’s dive into her world.

What does "the wild woman" mean to me now?

In my Crone–Wise Sage phase, the wild woman whispers of unbridled, radiant freedom. She is unapologetically herself, walking through life with nothing to prove. She celebrates her truth, singing her soul’s ancient song and weaving a life of fierce authenticity. This season has unveiled her essence in me—through my raw instincts, fiery creativity, and my ever-deepening connection with nature, because truly, I am nature. She speaks to me in the dialogue I hold with my Self: storyteller, seeker, and guardian of wisdom.

When did I silence her voice?

There were times I ignored the knowing—the gentle stirrings of unease, the intuitive whispers of "this is not quite right." In past relationships, I betrayed that voice, choosing instead to fix, heal, or mend. The cost was great. That silence drained my spirit and left me untethered, a bird denying its wings.

The power of "the howl"

For me, the howl is a primal, soul-stirring anthem of liberation. It is a rallying cry that urges me to embrace freedom, wild adventure, and unapologetic self-expression. At its core, it is a reminder to fully own my untamed, unapologetic essence. Inside me lies a powerful longing—a book, my untamed manifesto, waiting to be born.

Healing through her wild wisdom

As Clarissa beautifully says, "the wild woman is the medicine for all things." If I truly allow her to guide me, she would become the alchemist, lovingly piecing together the fragments of my soul into radiant wholeness. She challenges me to step into my power and embrace the untameable force within.

Reclaiming wildness where I’ve been too tame

There are places where I’ve lived too cautiously. My relationship, for instance, was once too “tame.” Reclaiming wildness here means rediscovering passion, intimacy, and connection that pulses with life. It’s about setting our souls aflame with uninhibited joy and profound pleasure.

The river beneath the river: A sacred image

One metaphor resonates deeply—the "river beneath the river." It awakens a sacred longing in me, calling me toward creative arts, intentional solitude, and rituals that nourish my soul. And the image of the wolf transformed into a laughing woman running free toward the horizon—what liberation, what wild, untamed joy!

My moment of wild freedom

I found my truest wildness in the sacred mountains of Bali. Surrounded by lush peaks, I carved out sacred space for devotional practices and stillness. It was a deliberate creation of spaciousness to connect with my essence, to simply be. That freedom was supported by intention—space to thrive in my skin.

Your Invitation

I share this not just as my story, but as an invitation. The wild woman resides within each of us, waiting to be seen and heard. Where does she stir in you? Is she whispering through your creative passions, your desire for freedom, or your longing to reconnect with nature?

Listen. Honour her. Let her guide you home.

With wild love,
Suzy Cherub
